  3. Emily!

Hi! Long time no see! I really hope you’re doing well and enjoying your last year here  I don’t really know what the portfolio aspect of the class has to do, I just automatically did a Storybook, but I liked your story on the wolf pup and the cow mom! I haven’t read the original story before now either, so I compared it to your rendition and I like the changes you made a ton! I’m glad you decided to not kill the baby cow. That’s sad. And a lot of these units we’ve been reading have really sad endings or things happen in them, so a happy point was wonderful! The picture you found for the wolf mom is really nice too. I enjoyed reading this so much! Good luck on the rest of your semester and I look forward to reading more of what you write!

  5. Emily,
This was my first time visiting your portfolio and I immediately noticed that you incorporated animals in both stories so that immediately caught my attention. In fact, I noticed that I have not read either of the stories you chose to do your storytelling posts over. Therefore, your author’s notes came as a huge help! I think you did an excellent job in the changes you made for “The Mighty Ones” story. I enjoyed reading the story very much, along with your picture. I like how the story was short and sweet, yet still exciting and entertaining to read.

For your second story, I like the changes you decided to make. I think you made the right decision in leaving out the wolf killing the baby and having the baby call upon the saint. I thought that was extremely clever and creative. I found this story to be equally as enjoyable to read. I think you did an excellent job of rewriting this story. I think this story was also nice and direct and not to over the top with details. Great job Emily. I can’t wait to read more of your stories!

  7. Thank you for the comments on my Storybook! I really do appreciate the words and support. The size of the links are being adjusted. As for the background, I'm still up in the air over whether I should or not. A lot of colors is definitely Seuss's thing, but the colors and simplicity represent Finland, so I'm torn.
